Who it may suit

Clinical Pilates can be a useful option when you are rebuilding after injury, managing recurrent flare ups, returning to training, or wanting a structured way to improve movement quality alongside physiotherapy.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this suitable if I am in pain?
Clinical Pilates is often used specifically with people who are in pain or managing a condition. Your programme will be tailored to where you are now, with appropriate modifications. You do not need to be pain-free to start.
Do I need to be flexible or fit?
No. Clinical Pilates is appropriate at all fitness and flexibility levels. Sessions are individually designed based on your assessment, not a general class format. We start where you are and build progressively.
Can it support post injury rehabilitation?
Yes — post injury rehabilitation is one of the most common reasons people engage with Clinical Pilates at Summit Wellness. Sessions can be designed alongside or as part of your physiotherapy plan, depending on your stage of recovery.
How is this different to a general Pilates class?
Clinical Pilates is conducted by a physiotherapist and is guided by a clinical assessment of your individual movement, strength, and injury history. A general class follows a set programme for the group. Clinical sessions are individualised and clinically focused rather than fitness-class formatted.
